Wax Sculptures/ A Visit to Museum
The Saint Petersburg Wax Museum

Recently we visited a museum and enjoyed it really.

It was a wax sculptures exhibition "The Romanovs", where the history of Russian Empire was presented in wax figures of tzars, emperors, empresses and prominent people of those times.

We traveled through the history of Russia from Ivan Grozniy (The Terrible) to Nikolay II, who was the last Russian Emperor.

Among royalty there were their outstanding contemporaries: Nikolay Lomonosov - the first Russian scientist, Alexander Suvorov - one of the greatest captain of all the times etc.

 The installation "The Murder of Imperial Family" impressed all the visitors, the emotions of people are depicted with the high level of professionalism. All figures are seemed to be living.

 Creating a wax model is a hard and scrupulous process, requiring a great deal of time (it takes from three months to a year or more to develop a model).

 This exhibition was presented by The Saint Petersburg Wax Museum. The Wax Figures is famous entertainment all over the word: lots of celebrities are gathered in Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.

 Each model is unique and requires a great individuality in approach. In the process of creating a wax model there are no stages that are not important. The work is all about details, so every detail is crucial. Only by this work approach they could have created the charming smiles, the enigmatic faces, or, for instance the gimlet-eye of Rasputin or the majestic posture of Empress Catherine the Great. 

We had a good time and are pleased with the visit.
